Studio & community guidelines

Code of Conduct

The guru–shishya parampara rests on respect. These guidelines apply in the studio, at performances, in WhatsApp groups and on the portal.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

01In the studio

  • Arrive 10 minutes early; offer pranam to the guru and the stage before tying ghungroos.
  • Wear the prescribed practice attire, with hair tied back and no loose jewellery.
  • Phones stay silent and away during class unless the faculty asks you to record riyaz.
  • No footwear on the wooden dance floor; food and drinks other than water stay outside.

02Respect & safety

  • Zero tolerance for bullying, body-shaming, caste, gender or religious discrimination.
  • Physical correction of posture by faculty is done respectfully and only with the student's comfort in mind; students and parents can ask for verbal correction instead.
  • Minors are never left alone with a single adult behind closed doors.
  • Fee status is private — no one should ask or discuss another family's fees.

03Parents & visitors

  • Please wait in the waiting area; observation days are announced in advance.
  • Pick up young students on time — staff supervise for 15 minutes after class ends.
  • Do not photograph or film other students without their parents' permission.

04Online & WhatsApp groups

  • Batch groups are for class updates only — no forwards, promotions or political content.
  • Do not share choreography videos from class on public social media without written permission.
  • Disagreements should be raised privately with the academy, not in group chats.

05Acceptable use of the portal

When using the website, portal or app, you must not:

  • Sign in as another student, or share your account or OTP.
  • Try to access data that is not yours, or probe, scan or overload our systems (see Security Policy for responsible reporting).
  • Upload or capture images of anyone other than the registered student during verification.
  • Copy, scrape or redistribute repertoire, riyaz audio or other members' information.

06Raising a concern

Any concern about a child's safety or wellbeing can be raised confidentially with Guru Rupa Bhattacharyya or the Academy Administrator in person, at contact@danspiration.com, or on WhatsApp +91 98300 12345. Child-safety concerns are acted upon the same day.

07Consequences

Depending on seriousness, breaches may lead to a reminder, a meeting with parents, temporary suspension from class or performances, or cancellation of admission. Serious safety matters may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
